Birdwatching Sites Plessey Woods Country Park

Plessey Woods is a popular country park to the south of Northumberland.  Habitats include 100 acres of woodland, meadows and a freshwater river.

There is a relaxing nature trail which travels through the woods and alongside the freshwater river.  Species to watch out for include Kingfisher, Dipper, Grey Wagtail and there are a wide variety of woodland birds to see.  Otters have also been recorded at this site.

The country park is popular with dog walkers and families, especially during weekends and holidays.  There are good facilities available with a small cafe, toilets and a free car park.  Visitors are recommended to also visit the nearby sites of Bothal Pond,
Big Waters Nature Reserve and Arcot Pond.
